Round Ten Playtest Notes

When: Monday, Feb 10, 2003, 1pm

Who: Me and Muriel

Experience: Both players were experienced gamers, though none other than I had seen this game before.

Notes:

We used our hands to shield the 2D6. Muriel picked up the game very quickly and enjoyed playing without incident.

I showed Muriel my first stab at packaging, and told her of my frustrations with the dice cup issue. I solved part of the problem: With the plastic box packaging I'd been using, I could include an opaque sleeve that could be folded to obscure only one or two of the box's clear sides while on display, but then could be folded out to fit all four sides of the transparent case's interior.

Still, this only solved half the problem, as it would provide only one dice cup.

Muriel pointed out that the figure cases I was using had a reversable base, and that a second transparent cube could be attached to the underside of the base, yeilding a two-sided package, with each side holding the game pieces for a single player.

The cases work well enough for dice, though they are a bit pricy at 60 cents apiece. Still, this is the best solution yet for the dice cup problem.
